Kuala Lumpur Bird Park - A Bird Lover's Paradise
So many birds under one roof seems like a dream for any bird lover. I, personally do not like when humans cage animals/birds for their selfish motives. But when I reached KL Bird Park I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it is a free flight aviary. Meaning, birds are free to fly and live, but within the park's premise (park premise is netted to prevent any escape and also to keep birds away from any harm, especially smaller, rare birds).
KL Bird Park boosts of approximately 200 species of birds in over 20 acres of area. KL Bird park is known as "World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary" where birds are let free in an aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat.
Some colorful Parakeets, Cockatiels, Parrots and Lorikeets
As a nature lover myself, I spent almost 3 hours watching the birds and clicking their pictures. It is a feeling beyond words to watch birds fly by, perched on tree tops, feeding themselves and feeding their younger ones, playing with other birds, having some warm moments with their partner, drinking water, eating fruits off the trees, staring at humans (thinking how strange human species are), posing for cameras (well they are now used to the paparazzi) and sleeping (especially OWLS).
A park where even birds walk with you
We have so many gift's from nature that we sometimes fail to appreciate its presence and beauty. But everyone should take some time off from their life to observe, thank and admire nature. That is the true 'Inner Peace', Master Shifu spoke of. And based on all the travelling I have done so far (though limited), NATURE is what relaxes me, soothes me, comforts me.
In the end I would like to quote someone, "NATURE does not need us, we need NATURE". So protect it for your own sake.
